IMPORTANT!

ALWAYS do a BACKUP of the files
Icenhancer ISN'T meant to be played on 1.0.7.0. Use 1.0.4.0!!!


Read the Readme.txt Files and pls look in the forum if a thread to your problem already exists !!!

If you are using an ATI Card: Make sure that no Antialiasing is forced in the Catalyst Control Center

FIX FOR SHINING CARS:

Open icechader.fx with a text editor.
And set it to look like this:

//#define DEPTH_OF_FIELD
AND
//#define LQ_DOF
#define HQ_DOF

--> "I got a fresh GTA IV install, what should i do now?"

First install the Patch 1.0.4.0 (or 1.0.0.4), DO NOT use 1.0.7.0 (always installed for steam users) because reflections are buggy SSAO and Skylighting (most important thing from ENB Mod) don't work and never will.

IF YOU USE 1.0.4.0 YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE MULTIPLAYER!!!

First you need to make your game be able to be modded. For that you have to use xliveless (included in Ice 2.1 Package)
- XLiveLess
The Scripthook is very useful for Scripts or other things.
- GTAForums.com -> [BETA] GTAIV .Net ScriptHook

--> " GREAT, I made everything right and the game crashes after a few seconds -.- WTF...?!"

The "d3d9.dll" from ENB/Icenhancer doesn't work with Ingame Overlay like Xfire or MSI Afterburner. Close them before starting the game.

From now on YOU have to help yourself.

If you think it is too saturated, open iceshader.fx with an text editor and change the saturation here:

float Saturation = 1.33; <- lower THIS value a bit
float AddContrast = 0.25;




- Optional Textures, Mods, Fixes -

NEW: Adding Cars
i'll explain about adding a new car in GTA IV

files you need from IV:

carcol.dat
cargrp.dat
default.dat
gta.dat
images.txt


others file:


a new car file(wft + wtd)
openIV

in this tutorial i'll be using test.wft & test.wtd as new car file and it replace turismo.
if your new vehicle didn't have handling or carcol, you can use the one it replace, but rename the name to your car name(test)
all words that's bold can be change to any name you like(don't use space)
while editing always follow the format of the file( space, CAPITAL LETTERS, and everything) don't make a blank new line or
delete a new line(it'll crash sometime).
don't change a vehicle that's in your parking(saved car) or you will get smpa60 error.
to add more than 24 vehicle you need patch 1.0.0.4(max 28).

1. edit default.dat, gta.dat and images.txt
default.dat -> add "HANDLING common:/data/newhandling.dat"

depend on how many vehicle you add, there is a bug(minigame, carwash and maybe other place are screwed)(fixed)

nice guide, anyways , i start the game , there are no start , options , quit etc , after i press enter , game starts , and before it stops loading, a crash :D

Hmm that LordNeophyte takes way to long for me to bother, I got 30mb download speed and it goes 300kb/s
