I guess this must sound very stupid to most people in here, but I actually need an installation Guide.
I downloaded GTA4 on the computer. I downloaded iCenchancer 2.0.
Where can I find a guide to install this wonderful software into GTA? I've searched for any "official" info on this subject without luck.
Please help. Thanks.

I've posted this before, seemed to help people out. I'll see if I can make it a little better. That is about as good as I can see it getting. [for Steam Version(may work with cd install, idk)]Step 1: Obtain a completely clean install (No mods). Run gta iv and load up a save game (or start a new game). Once the game completely loads, exit the game (This mini-step fixes an issue people were having with installing RGSC). *Tip*: BACK UP your clean install: [grand theft auto iv] folder. Location-> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\ Step 2: Open steam, go to library, right click GTA IV, click properties, local files tab, click verify integrity of game cache. When that completes click the updates tab and change it to "Do not automatically update" Exit Steam completely. Step 3: Download www.fileplanet.com/221298/220000/fileinfo/Grand-Theft-Auto-IV-Patch-v1.0.4.0 and install the patch. Step 4: Rename [GTA IV] folder to [GTA IV renamed] (This is the folder inside of [grand theft auto iv] folder ) **** Do this PRIOR to INSTALLING RGSC! ****Download www.fileplanet.com/195614/190000/fileinfo/Rockstar-Games-Social-Club-Client-v1.3 Install RGSC (thing you just downloaded). Step 5: Move the files inside the [GTA IV] (folder created by RGSC) into [GTA IV renamed] (folder you renamed). Delete [GTA IV] folder and rename [GTA IV renamed], back to [GTA IV]. Step 6: Open [GTA IV] folder and find the LaunchGTAIV file, right click it, send to, click desktop. Right click the shortcut that was made on the desktop, click shortcut tab, edit the Target: line to say "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -norestrictions Quotes included. Step 7: Download iCEnhancer2.0 at depositfiles.com/files/670339x4jOpen iCEnhancer20N.rar, click on [patch 1.0.3.0 to 1.0.0.4] folder, Open [1. only if fresh installation]. Move xlive.dll and xlive_d.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV Go back to [patch 1.0.3.0 to 1.0.0.4] folder, open [2. main files], and move all the folders and files to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV merge the folders and overwrite the files when the notifications pop up. (I believe you can stop here and have it work; however, I added the iceconfig.ini located in [3. Anti Aliasing] - [FXAA] ) Step 8: Open GTA IV using that shortcut that was created & modified earlier (-norestrictions) and upon reaching the main menu if none of the menus show up (No Text Glitch). Then: Download www.fileplanet.com/221303/220000/fileinfo/Grand-Theft-Auto-IV---Fonts-Mod and place fonts.dat and fonts_r.dat into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\grand theft auto iv\GTAIV\common\data *Tip*: BACK UP [grand theft auto iv] folder after you verify that it is running properly with iCE 2.0. Step 9: Step 10: Profit

So, I installed the RSGC thing before renaming. Am I screwed, and I have to entirely reinstall GTA 4? Because I can't find the "LaunchGTAIV" File.
Yep, I'm screwed. Dammit. "corrupt game files". A warning would've been nice, but I can't blame you. It's my fault for missing a step.

Spending 5-10 extra seconds on each step is a lot better than spending 30 minutes wiping everything you did and restoring your clean install.

Thank you, thank you so much for the guide. By the way, it does work with CD install and thus no need to do step 4.

Okay I followed this guide and everything goes well until step 3 .. downloading the patch and trying to install it gives me an error that the social club is not installed and running so the patch does not work.. to get around this i found an archive of 1040 and just copied it all into my directory.. after trying to launch the game then it crashes after the GTA4 logo and is not responding anymore. I have tried to launch it using the modified shortcut you mentioned also.
how do you install the RSGC client file? it is just one file that does not do anything ... no installation screen or anything like that.. when i double click the RGSC_1_1_3_0.;exe it gives me an error that the rockstar social club is not running or installed and that is it?

I would assume there is some error with the gta iv clean install. I have never had an error when trying to patch/install RGSC, nor have I seen anyone else with the issue (that I can recall).

I get to step three and after downloading and extracting the patch, I click to open and it gives me an error saying that rockstar social club was not detected. I click the RGSC (assuming that this is the rockstart social club installer?) and I get the same error. Grindsoul and I are running into the same issue, I followed the instructions to the T. I am using an updated version of the game on Steam with no previous mods. Any ideas? Edit: Steam users with updated versions of the game will need to downgrade to the patch listed above, using directions I found in another thread. www.gtagaming.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2198415Follow the directions in the link above and the errors shouldn't be an issue any longer!

I had that problem too, and I found the solution. I nerfed my install earlier today when trying to do another mod, and I had to delete everything and re-download it. So when I tried to get step 3 to work, it said I didn't have Social Club installed either.
My fix was to run the game one time once I had it re-downloaded. I loaded a game, then quit. The patch and the Social Club files ran perfectly after running the game once after downloading it again.
Hope this helps! Make sure you exit Steam after doing this!

My clean install is backed up after having played the unmodded 1.0.7.0 gta iv for an hour or two to verify the install worked properly. Adding in a mini step to guide.

This is going to sound a little stupid.
So I was talking to my friend on facebook - he introduced me to icenhancer.. and gave me a link to download 2.0N. (Haven't played IV yet.. WTF!.. (I've still clocked all the others..just haven't gotten around to this.. so I thought icenhancer would be awesome to finally play it with))
Once I finished the download, I asked him what next and he told me to install it straight to my GTAIV folder.... (he is a massive computer geek.. so anything he says.. I follow!) I then did exactly that.
BUTTTTT little did he know that I HAD THE STEAM VERSION. And he was referring to a non-steam version. Silly kid. So that was the misunderstanding..
So I started steam it obviously didn't work.. so I thought hrm. I then verified the integrity of the files.. Steam then found several folders which weren't verified. So then it updated and retrieved and replaced the ones it thought weren't right.
I then started up steam.. and shabam it worked! However, due to the graphical quality.. it's definitely changed! and yes it does look a little better.. but there are a few things which make it look like unlike what it's supposed to look like.. or worse then the original.
Anyways, thought I would leave this here as due to my silly mix up - it could be interesting or informative to others.
Now to my inquiry.. will I have to delete all GTA IV through steam.. then redownload it all again? Or is there like a directory I can download to copy over to make it back to the original so I can follow THIS guide to make it work properly.. ??
Thanks and sorry about the huge story!
