Hi, I'm new here so i wondered if i could ask for some advice.
I've got two versions of GTA IV, the one i originally bought in 2008-09 and which is with a friend and the one i bought recently off Steam...
I thought by now the Steam version would allow me to use this iCE mod but sadly it does not... after downgrading to 1040 i installed iCE and it worked, but i had red-skies and TV-interference like snow-storm grain to screen during the night sequence plus cut-scenes were void of any effects, don't worry i tried the fix(s) here, downloaded the odd fix...didn't help, so thats all because of my Steam version? right now i just couldn't play the game as the night scenes were unplayable, couldn't see anything through the screen-grain...
so i updated via Steam and went back to 1070 for a few extra frames-per-second and also installed the iCEnhancer 135 final for the 1070 versions... worked for a while but now it always crashes with an out of memory error from my 2 x GTX 570 SLI setup... so I'm buggered, how to remove?
So whats the best procedure to actually get this working on my system, ditch the Steam version and use my disks (if i can get them)? seems like I'll have to go that route as the 1070 version seems not to be working for me without the problems...
Or should i download the ISO from an online source and use either my original CD key or my Steam CD-key to get the game registered then install 1040 patches and then install iCE? is that the way? please advise...
Thank you

You have bought the game 2 times? Why? As always use parch 1.0.4.0 to get the best result The fix isn't odd, i just try to help ,,|,, SLI don't work on GTA, u must use special Bits via Nvidia Inspector to use both Cards,

Yes ,Download the ISO source(Since you own the game) ,And then patch it to 1.0.4.0 ,then iCEnhancer should will work for sure ;D(Make sure you read the readme properly ),SLI doesnt work that great with 1.0.4.0 so disable or do what legacyy said,1.0.7.0 is not compatible with iCEnhancer for the moment and thank you legaccy for your advice

Thanks guys for the help... yes i bought it twice, £4.99 on Steam and i thought why not seeing as it's the one of the best games and my original disks are with a friend and i just wanted to play it again... So you say SLI wouldn't work right out of the box? could i create an NV profile via my NV control-panel? if theres some specific instructions for this then please share thanks. What i have done now is downloaded the ISO's (i have 2 CD-keys so I'm legit) and removed my previous install, I'm going to re-install and update to 1040 then test, then hopefully activate an SLI profile to get some power behind that engine then hopefully install iCE and were all done, can't wait I'll actually do that later tonight if possible... oh may i ask, do i need to be anything special to ask for a beta for iCE 2.0? I've actually done lots of beta testing before for web-software and crysis and BF3 and supermodel3 etc, i have a fairly powerful system and i wouldn't mind seeing how it runs, I'm good with feedback via email or forums... anyhew thanks guys

You can wait for iCE 2.0 BETA 4 ,It will come out in a while (Only members of this forum ,Restricted to 100 downloads) ,I'm glad i could help you,iCEnhancer will run fine on a single 570gt so if you really sli then make Nvidia inspector profile like legaccy said

You have to download the NvidiaInspector first. Then Make a GTA IV Profile (google helps there). Then you have to go to the SLI compability Bits There you must choose the one i already said for GTA IV. Then the game should run with SLI enabled.

Hi, thanks for the update and info...
I have re-installed everything including NVInspector and it's all working ok, seems to be using both GPUs according to the monitor which is great.
I have not installed iCEnhancer as yet... do you think i should wait for v2? or install 135-Final? Thanks guys.

Well i dunno what I've done but it's 'effectless' in it's entirety... like it was before on a cut-scene but everywhere... This is what I've done so far... Install full game, patched to 1040, disabled xlive, installed 100% save-game, installed some cars which were fine, installed 'ultimate textures v2.0' which is Russian by all accounts... i played and all was well, then installing iCE 135 final and it's not picking it up... i run at 1920x1080 and i changed the config to match that from 1280x720, but restored the iceconfig to 1280x720 thinking it was that... it wasn't... i installed the 'star-junction' fix and I'm sure I've done everything ok as far as settings go's... So yeah, it just looks like it has no effects what so ever now, runs ok... but no lighting, shade, AA etc etc, just raw textured polygons... if you know what I've done wrong please advise me further if poss, cheers

Yeah back to square one again, i removed some script hook for dotnet as advised in the modding help which cause a crash most likely because of a first-person mod i installed... also installed the filelist.pak anyhew... check the link for the screen shot, if you know what thats all about then great.. Now before on my Steam version it worked, not the best but it worked... I have spent another day going the other route which is proving fruitless thus far... I'm sure i have followed instructions to the best of my ability.. in short, it should be working as it was before but alas it's beyond me... if you have any clues let us know, or if you know of a working alternative please share thanks s48.photobucket.com/albums/f246/b6gm6n/?action=view¤t=GTAIV-2012-01-03-08-53-48-63.jpgNo AA, no shadows, no anything really...

Is there a way to remove the iCE mod if it fails me? I tried to play just now with everything looking like I'm having a stroke, very bright, no sky textures really and no AA or effects... and just as i was about to accept defeat and play as is... when it crashed on me for no reason... So I'm gonna remove it, if you know of a way to do so then please tell me as i don't want to spent another day setting this up from scratch... i suppose its just a matter of looking at the file structure of the mod and hand-picking the stuff i want to remove and doing it manually? thanks

In desperation i installed an all-in-one mod which is here yet its exactly the same, no effects what so ever, the games running, i see the iCE info upon loading, i load my game and it's as before... is there anything i can do? anyone? see screen-shot in post above...surely some one must know? I have followed the instructions to thew letter, re-installed and i cannot escape frustration.

That's extremely weird ,Try reinstalling GTA IV,install 1.0.4.0 patch, then try iCEnhancer 1.35 ,Don't install any other mod,It's seems like some timecyc prob, or try disabling sli and see
