Hi, i search in this forum, and i find, in many topik, where people, who have ati card, especially 6950 2Gb, have very low fps.
I have 6950 2gb, and i have around 10-15 sometimes max 20 fps.
I system:
Win7 64bit
gta iv 1.0.4.0 (stam version, downgraded)
q9550 @ 3,77Ghz
6950 2Gb
4gb ddr2 1150Mhz ram
I try the default, and the low-end config.
The 1.35 run better, but i want use 2.0
It is possible, to fix this problem in the future? Or anyone have any idea, how can we fix thaht?
Please post your system, and tell, if you have fps problem!

just google for amd/ati gta low fps problem and you find 10000000 post about this..

1000000000 post abaut low fps with icehancer2?
I don't get low fps nowhere expect gta iv, with icehancer2.

Had a 2xATI 6950 2GB HIS Turbo edition
8GB of DDR3
and the CPU was an Overclocked Phenom X4 965
Most FPS I had on Med/High graphics with the draw distance and car detail half way was about 40FPS
Average was between 15 and 35 scaling depending on where I was.
I spent months and months trying to tweak the game to run better, Crossfire On/Off Tweaking graphical settings. Pushing my CPU to the max it made no difference.
Recently I sold the whole lot and reverted back to an Intel setup after nearly 4 years of Exclusive AMD builds and I can run it with all the settings on their highest and I have technically a slower setup
Now its a
i5 2500K
8GB DDR 3
and a Single GTX 570.
Frame rates are always between 50-60 on their absolute highest.
I think GTA 4 simply works better with Intel/Nvidia setups.
I can hear my GFX Fan start to kick in as it gets to about 60-70C and on my ATI Crossfire or single setup the GPU never went above 30% usage but it ran like a dog.

Crossfire doesn't work with GTA. And it runs 100 times better with Nvidia cards. Even an old GTX260 runs better than most AMD cards... Just google it: tinyurl.com/7dajcne |

thats ok, but i can run the game with icehancer 1.35 or 1.25, and i get better fps. Thats what i don't understand why. Becouse 2.0 need run better, than 1.xx versions.
