NVIDIA cards are generally good when it cones to gaming and out performing the AMD's in their new release of graphics. If your getting a CPU get a Intel 'K' CPU because the other ones aren't very over clockable.also AMD's FX CPU's are HORRIBLE. They consume too much power and make more heat than Intels Gulftown chips(980X/990X)

zummy awesome =) ngudav15AMD are equal to Nvidia Cards... the new 7970 and 7950 are as good as the 680/670. The "K" are better, yes but they are more expensive, need a more expensive Mainboard, a new CPU Cooler when you OC and aren't that much better in 2 or 3 years....

I found a i5 2500K and an Asus P8P67 Rev. 3.0 for a sweet price. I think I'll go with that

legaccy in becnhmarks the 680/760 actually perform better than 7970 and 7950. its only in multimonitor resoultions the AMD cards perform better. THough probably most of the people on this forum do single screen gaming. also the ivy bridge chips are hotter and the P67 chipsets are fine.and that most of the peope on this forum do gaming lol.

They are on the SAME level, check this here: [a href="http://ht4u.net/reviews/2012/amd_radeon_hd_7970_ghz_edition_tahiti_xt2_test/index43.php?dummy=&advancedFilter=false&prod[]=AMD+Radeon+HD+7970&prod[]=NVIDIA+GeForce+GTX+680&filter[0][]=1680&filter[0][]=1920&filter[2][]=1&filter[2][]=2x2+SSAA&filter[2][]=2x2+SSAA+%2B+MLAA&filter[2][]=4&filter[2][]=8&filter[2][]=FXAA+-+hoch&filter[2][]=MLAA&filter[2][]=Post+AA&filter[3][]=16&aa=all"]http://ht4u.net/reviews/2012/amd_radeon_hd_7970_ghz_edition_tahiti_xt2_test/index43.php?dummy=&advancedFilter=false&prod[]=AMD+Radeon+HD+7970&prod[]=NVIDIA+GeForce+GTX+680&filter[0][]=1680&filter[0][]=1920&filter[2][]=1&filter[2][]=2x2+SSAA&filter[2][]=2x2+SSAA+%2B+MLAA&filter[2][]=4&filter[2][]=8&filter[2][]=FXAA+-+hoch&filter[2][]=MLAA&filter[2][]=Post+AA&filter[3][]=16&aa=all[/a] The 7970 GHz Edition is even faster than a 680... The Ivy Bridge are only hotter if it comes to OC, these 1 or 2°C don't matter in the normal 24/7 usuage. P67 are fine, yes, but it's not wise to still buy them in my opinion, because they don't fully support new stuff. Most people here do gaming....

No, i choose the "normal" 7970 from the dropdown menu. You can select the 7970GHz Edition and see for yourself, the card is always faster than the 680.

the 3450 isn't a CPU for OC, then you can take the offer there, but i don't know about the price.. that are about 300€ can you ask if the cpu has already been overclocked or used for benchmark?
